Accessing Trailer & Yard Management

You must first Log In to MacysNet. Use the Log In link on the home page.
NOTE: User Names and Passwords are provided by Macy's, Inc.'s Transportation Office.

  1. Enter your Username and Password, then click the Login button.

  2. Verify that the Username displayed on the top right is correct. If this is not your own account, please use the CLICK HERE link to Register.
  3. Click the Trailer & Yard Management link in the left menu to continue.

Locate Appointment
  1. Select a Macy's, Inc. Location from the drop-down list on the left. A confirmation screen will appear.
  2. Select a Time Zone from the drop-down list on the left. A confirmation screen will appear.
  3. Click on Locate Appointment in the menu on the left.
  4. Make a selection in the Search Options drop-down list.
  5. The screen options will change based on your selection. Follow the instructions below for the Search Option selected.

    Based on the type of search performed, and the criteria used to narrow search, you will be able to view one to multiple appointments, or locate a specific appointment and view the details of that appointment. You will be able to pull up any appointment, but can only perform actions on appointments whose destination is in your assigned yard. Click an Appt# to view Appointment Detail.

  • By Appointment

    1. Search by using any of the following methods:
      • Type in the Appointment# to view details for a specific appointment.
      • Click the drop down menu for Destination to search for all appointments with that destination.
      • Click the drop down menus for an appointment with a specific Begin or End Date and Time; or in conjunction with Destination.
    2. Click the Search button once the criteria have been selected.
    3. If the search criteria are valid, details for the appointments will display on the next menu. If the search criterion is invalid, the message "No Data Found For Search Criteria" will be displayed in addition to a New Search button to start over.

    4. To cancel a search and return to the main menu, click the Back button on the web browser.

  • By Carrier/Date

  • This search has the same options available as the search.

    This search will result in a specific Carrier and Date alone, or in combination with the options Carrier, Trailer #, Freight Type, Dispatch, Appt Type, Appt Status, and Carrier Type.


  • By Carrier/Trailer

  • This search allows entry of a specific Carrier and Trailer #.
    1. Use the button to find abbreviations.
    2. Select a Destination to narrow search results.

  • By Destination/Date

    1. Search by using any of the following methods:
      • Destination and Date, requires selection of a Destination from the drop down menu and a Begin and End Date.
      • Trailer # requires a specific trailer number.
      • Carrier requires a specific carrier abbreviation. Use the button to find abbreviations.
      • Freight Type requires selection of the Freight Type from the drop down menu.
      • Dispatch requires selection of either a Y or N to search for appointments ready for dispatch.
      • Appt Type requires selection from the drop down menu. (DC to DC, DC to Store, Store to DC, Carrier to DC, or DC to Carrier.)
      • Appt Status requires selection from the drop down menu. (Unconfirmed, Confirmed, Log Arrival, Ready For Unload, Unloading, Unload Complete, Loading, Load Complete, Suspended, Cancelled, and Archived. (Archived is an appt in Unload Complete Status with an Archive Timestamp and in transit.)
      • Carrier Type requires selection from the drop down menu. (Backhaul, Shuttle, LTL, Air Freight, Consolidation, LTL Exception, Rail, Small Package, Trailer Load, and Vessel.)

      All options must be used in combination with one or more to narrow search results.

    2. Click the Search button once the criteria have been selected.

  • By Freight Bill/Carrier/Date

  • This search allows a specific Freight Bill number (FB#), Carrier and Date.

    Select a Destination to narrow search results.


  • By Origination/Date

  • Locate and view appointments by a specific Origination and Date. Origination locations will include stores and distribution centers. Origination and Date are required. Narrow search results by entering Carrier, Trailer #, Freight Type, Dispatch, Appt Type, Appt Status and Carrier Type.

Locate Carrier

Use the Locate Carrier button to search for the carrier SCAC.

  1. Type in the full or partial carrier Name and click Search.
  2. Once results are displayed, click the appropriate carrier to return to the main search screen.

Locate Trailer

Use this feature to search for trailers and view the status of a trailer in a yard.

  1. Select a Macy's, Inc. Location from the drop-down list on the left.
    A confirmation screen will appear.
  2. Select a Time Zone from the drop-down list on the left.
    A confirmation screen will appear
  3. Click on Locate Trailer in the menu on the left.
  4. Search using any combination of the following options: Appt Status, Appt Type, Drop/Live, Dispatch, Yard, Carrier Type, and Freight Type. If search results in multiple trailers, use the Sort By option to sort the results by Yard Area ID, Trailer ID, or Date/Time.

  5. Click an Appt# to view the Appointment Detail screen.

After successfully locating an appointment, and actions may be performed on the trailer from the Appointment Detail screen.

  • Log Arrive

    1. On the Appointment Detail screen, click the Log Arrive button.
    2. Once a trailer has been successfully log arrived to the remote yard, a message on the bottom left of the Appointment Detail screen will appear. Log Arrive of the trailer is now completed.

    3. Add a note when logging arrival of a trailer by clicking the View/Add Note button.
    4. Click the Add Note button then type in the Add Note field.
    5. Click Close Window button when complete.

    On inbound appointments from a carrier, DC, or store to a DC, a Log Arrival only may be performed. You may only Log Arrive an appointment to yards for which you have access.

    Note: If a trailer has multiple appointments, or is co-loaded, all appointments on that trailer will be updated to Arrived status when one of the appointments is log arrived at the remote yard. If a trailer has multiple appointments, this message will appear: "The trailer has another active appointment of the same type. Do you want to continue?" Click Yes or No. If attempting to Log Arrive a trailer without a trailer number, a message will pop up: "You must enter a trailer number to log arrive an appointment."

  • Log Depart

  • On the Appointment Detail screen, a Log Depart action can be performed on outbound appointments when the trailer is in the remote yard by clicking the Log Depart button.

    Note: The Log Depart of a trailer cannot be completed on inbound appointments or on trailers that are not in the remote yard.

View Trailer Movement
  1. Select a Macy's, Inc. Location from the drop-down list on the left.
    A confirmation screen will appear.
  2. Select a Time Zone from the drop-down list on the left.
    A confirmation screen will appear.
  3. Click on View Trailer Movement in the menu on the left.
  • Start/Complete Move

    1. To search for trailers in the yard by: Move Status, Assignment of Trailers, or the SCAC/Trailer #, click on the View Trailer Movements button on the Locate Trailers in Yard screen or the View Trailer Movement link in the main menu.
    2. Clicking on View Trailer Movements will return the Appointment Detail screen.

    3. Click the Start Move, or Complete Move button based on the request the DC has initiated.
    4. A remote yard can implement trailer moves to and from a DC only when a DC has placed the trailer in Request Move status. The DC may request a trailer to be moved from the remote yard to the DC, or from the DC to the yard. You may only view and perform actions in the yard you are assigned.

      When the DC requests a move from the DC to the remote yard, you will only be able to Complete Move. When the DC request a move from the remote yard to the DC, you will only be able to Start Move.
